Robert A de J Hart spent decades planting woodland on his farm in Shropshire, in so doing he created a wonderful forest garden full of fruits, vegetables, nuts, medicinal plants and buzzing with wildlife.
Central to his vision is the interaction between species and their mutual support mechanisms. His ideas on self sufficiency and minimum maintenance were, in their day, groundbreaking and are now the bedrock of ecological thinking and practice.
