Llanyfenni a small town on the Brecon road, not far from Llangadog, sound familiar ?

This is where JJ Lambert’s  YA novel takes place….

“Life in a small Welsh town can be pretty dull, but Angharad’s summer becomes a lot more interesting when she meets the captivating Faith, a new arrival at her local church. However, Angharad’s crush takes a dark turn when she discovers Faith’s hidden life running drugs across the border to sell in Wales.
When Faith goes missing, Angharad teams up with local bad boy, Jake, in a determined effort to find her friend, Together, they embark on a tense and unexpected journey, facing challenges and uncovering secrets that test their resolve”

JJ Lambert has written stories, articles and poetry about queer life and nature in rural Wales for The New York Times, Gwyllion, Lucent Dreaming, The Welsh Agenda and other publications. She wrote Found Wanting partly for her queer teenage self and partly because we need more queer Welsh YA, more queer women in fiction and more women/girls saving the day. Jo is currently doing a research Masters looking at English language re-tellings of the stories of Twm Siôn Cati, writing a queer Tudor novella and a screenplay set in a cottage hospital which is not at all inspired by working in Llandovery Hospital.
